About us

CDA employ a number of architects, graduate architects and consultants. Our staff work flexible hours depending on output demand. We strive to create a positive and supportive environment for our team and are able to call upon additional staff resources when required.

The principals:

  • Karen Davis B Arch (Qld)

Karen Davis graduated from the University of Queensland where she spent formative years in the sunshine on a number of multi-million dollar commercial developments including the Museum and Art Gallery development in Brisbane.

Returning to Tasmania Karen has been a principal in private practice since 1992. She has worked extensively in Aged Care Design and commercial interiors and has a particular interest in the spatial influence of colour, light and texture, the principles of which are focal in her designs.

Karen is also an active member of the local architectural community where she enjoys a number of positions including member of the Tasmanian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects, Chapter Councillor, AIA Practice Committee member and is a Director of Tasmanian Affordable Housing Ltd.

  • Rebecca Davis B Arch Hons (UNSW)

Rebecca grew up in the Blue Mountains of NSW before studying architecture in Sydney. Her graduate thesis on the relevance of New Urbanism to Australian urban design led to work for a number of Sydney urban planning and architectural firms including the Darling Harbour Planning Authority.

Rebecca has enjoyed a 6 year association with CDA where she has worked predominantly on aged care projects, most recently the design and administration of the Queenborough Rise Nursing Home and residential Apartments in Sandy Bay.
